Kerala government raises upper age limit for PSC recruitments by four years

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday. As per the revised norms, the upper age limit for candidates in the general category has been increased from 36 years to 40 years, enabling more applicants to become eligible for PSC recruitments.

The Kerala Government has decided to increase the upper age limit for recruitments through the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) by four years.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday. As per the revised norms, the upper age limit for candidates in the general category has been increased from 36 years to 40 years, enabling more applicants to become eligible for PSC recruitments.

The age limits for Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories have also been raised proportionately.

At present, OBC candidates can apply up to 39 years of age. Following the Cabinet decision, they will now be eligible to apply up to 43 years. Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories will be able to apply up to the age of 45 years.

The decision is expected to provide significant relief to unemployed youth in the state by expanding eligibility for government job opportunities.
